The Course

Ardee Golf Club Score Card

While offering a good balance in terms of playability and difficulty, but also fairness, the course requires the golfer to give some thought to their shot selection and throws a number of challenges in their path along the way. There are a number of feature holes, in particular the par-3 thirteenth, which challenges the golfer with a carry of more than 180 yards from the mens competition tees over water, in order to reach the green safely.

Then there is the long dogleg par-5 fourteenth, which is 542 yards long and believed to be the only index-1 par-5 in Leinster. Again, this is a hole that is quite reachable in regulation by most golfers, but requires the golfer to employ a pinch of course management along the way. The relatively short par-4 sixteenth is a treat. Although short, given the positioning of the green, nestled in the surrounding woodland, two accurate and measured shots are required in order to reach the green in regulation.
